Crystal Stemware Identification Guide
Published in Paperback by Collector Books (October, 1997)
Authors: Bob Page and Dale Frederiksen
Average review score:

Good Source for Identifying Stemware
This is an excellent book for identifying good stemware that you find at garage sales, swap meets, auctions, estate sales or something left to you by a relative. The book has several hundred pictures - either actual photographs or sketches of stemware that are sorted by manufacturer. Just browse the book until you find a match and you know the manufacturer and pattern name of the item. It also has a handly index - if you happen to know the pattern name - so you can find the corresponding picture or sketch and the manufacturer. Once you know the manufacturer it's easy to get more information off the internet. The book also references a place where you may be able to get additional pieces or sell the pieces you have. My only wish is that the book gave some historical information on the various manufactures and their patterns.

This book will pay for itself!
This book is the greatest. If you haunt flea markets and garage sales like I do you need this book. It will more than pay for itself the first month you have it by allowing you to identify the mystery stemware you pick up. I take it along with me every time I go to the flea market or a garage sale. Once you know the name of your stemware you can always sell it to Replacements or on eBay and pick up a little extra cash for more junk :)

the only one you need!
This excellent reference would have saved me 6 months of fruitless searching to find the name of a discontinued pattern, if I had found it sooner. I would give this 6 stars if I could! Its completeness and layout are truly superior to anything else like it.

Crystalline Glazes
We have been researching Crystalline Glazes in our ceramics class and found this informative, beautiful publication. After studying the stunning photographs and noticing the detailed glaze formulas and firing schedules, it is a must have. Our teacher wanted it for his personal library. He is a well-known Pacific Northwest potter.

There is no picture of the Macro-Crystalline Glazes: The Ch
My name is Peter Ilsley also. I was tracing the web pages of the name and found this web site.

I was astonished to find that you were selling Macro-Crystalline Glazes: The Challenge Of Crystals without showing any pictures of it or telling anything about it. "image not available."

Please show a picture of the Macro-Crystalline Glazes: The Challenge Of Crystals.

Macro-Crystalline Glazes: The Challenge Of Crystals
If you are a crystalline glaze addict or just fascinated by the results, this is a book you must have. Gorgeous photographs to make you drool, and, perhaps most valuably, many recipes for glazes you can mix and try out yourself. The oil-drip reduction method included here will widen your range of crystal colors (but try alcohol instead; smells much better!). The Works by Contemporary Artists section will leave your head spinning with new ideas to try. I keep this book by my bedside and after almost a year, I am still amazed.

Collaboratively written by the husband and wife team of Anthony Obey and Crystal Majors, The Power Between Us: Singles Walking In God's Order To Establish His Kingdom is a book designed specifically for youth groups, engaged and married couples, close friends, and business/ministry partners. The Power Between Us offers a process for two people whereby they become more in touch with each other, and more in touch with God. Individual chapters cogently address the true power of ordained relationships, recognizing the good characteristics in oneself and others, guarding one's heart from destructive relationships, and much, much more. A spiritual and emotional guide for Christians to learn how to better open oneself to and connect with one another and with God's love, The Power Between Us is highly recommended reading for anyone seeking to establish and foster mutual intellectual, economic, social, emotional, and companionable roles with their significant other within the context of their personal and mutual Christian responsibilities.

very impressed
This book is definetly one of a kind. I am very much impressed by the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding these two young people have. Their knowledge normally takes several bad relationships to realize what they are saying at 20 years of age. I reccommend this book to not only their targeted age group, but to middle schoolers as well as older adults.
Again I am very pleased and happy that I purchased this book, I am looking forward to any thing else this couple puts out.

Where was this book when I was dating?
Although I am an older woman, the wisdom in this book is very real for all people. This book is very inspiring and highly reccommended.

Rowan and the Keeper of the Crystal
Published in Hardcover by Greenwillow (March, 2002)
Author: Emily Rodda
Average review score:

Rodda's Masterpiece
In Australia, Emily Rodda is one of the most renowned children's authors. She has written many fantasy books for children/ young adults and this amaizing book is just one example.
Rowan and the Keeper of the Crystal is a book in the Rowan series. It has the same feel and quality as all the other books. Rowan, a boy with special powers, is brought to decide who will be the Keeper of the Crystal. He journeys with them to learn their attitude, personality and abilities. But one of those that he journeys with desires the Crystal for evil. The unique story will possess you.
Once you have finishes this book, it is safe to say you will read it again but be pleased that Emily Rodda has written so many books. I can also guarantee this will not be the last of her books you will read. This book encourages you to read the rest of the famous Rowan books, or the very extensive and popular Deltora Quest series.
Maybe you havn't read any books like this before, but once you have read one, you will most likely read one after another. So add this to your reading list, and you will understand why young adult fantasy is so popular.

Not slowing at all
The "Rowan of Rin" series is one of the best book series out there for the who are not yet ready for the Prydain Chronicles or "The Hobbit." In the third story, "Rowan and the Keeper of the Crystal," we get more of a glimpse of this beautiful and dangerous world and the diverse people who inhabit it.

Rowan is stunned when the fishlike Maris folk summon his mother Jiller to the Cavern of the Crystal, there to choose a new Keeper. For reasons too complex to summarize, the Maris clans require an outsider to choose their Keeper, who helps protect them from the savage Zebak warriors. Jiller is the latest in a long line of Choosers, and Rowan will be her successor.

But upon arriving at the Cavern, Jiller is mysteriously poisoned. But after Rowan is appointed the new Chooser, he refuses to choose any of the three candidates until they help him find the ingredients for the antidote. The three set off on their quest -- but Rowan begins to wonder which of the three poisoned Jiller, and what motives are behind it.

As in the previous two books, Emily Rodda creates a believable world without the usual fantasy trappings like elves and wizards. The mystery surrounding Jiller's poisoning and the question of who would be chosen to be Keeper -- and why -- remains a question until the penultimate chapter, and events near them hint at the fourth book. The writing is beautifully descriptive without being too much so, and the dialogue is growing more realistic with every new book.

Rowan shows some personal growth since the first book, where he was outstandingly timid; here he is more self-assertive and confident, even when surrounded by strangers, and even defies the Keeper in an effort to save his mother. Jiller and Jonn (now formally engaged) are fairly nebulous. The three candidates are sufficiently defined that they don't blend together, especially Doss, who has a secret; Seaborn, who inexplicably doesn't like being a candidate; and Asha, who adheres viciously to how she thinks the world should work.

"Keeper of the Crystal" is an excellent young kids' fantasy, something for them either to read themselves or be read to at bedtime. Excellent second sequel.

Rowan and the Keeper of the Crystal
I thought this book was almost as good as the first Rowan story (on the mountain). I liked this story because it had things that happened when I least expected it. It had riddles, which i really like. It gave me a good reason to stay up late! It took me about a week to read. My brother and I both think Rowan is a great series.

The American Indian: Secrets of Crystal Healing
Published in Paperback by Foulsham & Co Ltd (October, 1996)
Author: Luc Bourgault
Average review score:

pretty good
This would have to be one of the better books that I've read on crystals and the more structured ways to use them. Luc is down to earth and gives good advice for not only healing yourself with crystals, but he also gives you techinques to imbue all of your food to heal as well. It would be a great book for anyone who has interest in crystal or has been working with them for some time already.

An important work, it shares a sacred tradition.
The author clearly states the importance of self clarity in one's work with crystals. He quides and encourages the reader in personal and mystical paths. Luc Bourgault shares his knowledge and love of all living elements, programming the book as carefully as he guides readers in the programming of crystal work. Well done.

The best book on crystals and their care and use I have read
Written from the perspective of Mother Earth, this book covers the basics of crystals and their use and care. At times, against traditional teaching, but I feel this is a truer path than the others I have read and used.

Angel Talk
Published in Hardcover by Edin Books Inc (01 January, 1996)
Authors: Ruth Crystal, Paul W. McCormack, and Ruth Crystal Bancone
Average review score:

This book is NOT for Religious Bigots !
This book is most inspirational. I will read it again and again. A must buy ! Religious denominations are definitely not an issue here. The author knows that angels have been a part of human history, long before Christianity arrived on the scene ! Blessed Be.

Not for Born-again Christians!
As I read this book, I became more and more convinced that, Satan being the "Angel of Light," and that all his demons are simply fallen angels, these messages and visions cannot be from any angel in heaven! Hence, beware! Read with the realisation that you are NOT reading about anything from the LIVING Lord God of Israel. Malcolm D. Powell Bracknell, England.

The inspiration is most enormous!
Angle talk is a wonderful diet for a hungry soul it reaches the innermost subconcious of todays generation. It is a very effective "tool" for anyone who chooses to improve their spirital life as well as the physical existence. Religous denominations is not stressed.

Crystallography Made Crystal Clear
Published in Paperback by Academic Press (15 January, 2000)
Author: Gale Rhodes
Average review score:

Updated for the e-century
The second edition of Crystallography Made Crystal Clear contains many improvements over the first edition, especially regarding the introduction of new graphics technology available to everyone that can view this webpage on the internet. Rhodes especially explains how the PDB file works and how to view it to best suit the individual scientist's purpose.

It is important to note that the book is still far from "crystal clear"! The portion of the book dealing with the physics of x-ray diffraction is very mysterious--definately dig out the old college physics textbook and read about diffraction when you find yourself confused. Also, the mathematics presented in the middle chapters of the book are way beyond the level that biochemists must deal with on a regular basis. An understanding of multi-variable calculus is important for these chapters.

Overall, the book is a must-read for anyone interested in structural biology, with the exception of several chapters regarding the mathematics that can be skimmed over. And the webpage associated with the book is an excellent resource.

"The" clearest one out there....
When it comes to this field of research, you get two types of references: (1) the 2-5 page quick intro that leaves you with the most basic overview of crystallography and (2) the 'hard core' books that go into such detail as to leave you breathless. This book is, in my opinion, the best transition book.

For non-crystallographers, this book will teach enough about crystallography to allow you to read crystal structure articles and understand what is meant by all of the used statistics and such.

For apprentice crystallographers, this is a wonderful intro into the field. Master the book, then move on to harder books to master it.

Highly recommended. I still go back to it, when I teach people, to help me explain in the way that Gale Rhodes does!

A must for anyone interested in protein structure.
A readable overview, superb for getting a feel for how crystallography works and what the results mean. There is also an excellent section on judging the quality of an atomic coordinate file, such as a PDB file you may download. Prof. Rhodes is now completing a second edition.

Linda Goodman's Star Cards: A Divination Set Inspired by the Astrological and Numerological Teachings of Linda Goodman
Published in Hardcover by Hampton Roads Pub Co (December, 2000)
Authors: Crystal Bush and Frank Riccio
Average review score:

A great guide!
These cards are a small reminder of Linda Goodman's Star Signs. It is a great aid to assisting you in reconnecting to the basis of natural laws, they just use different names - ie Mercury, Venus, etc. I have used other numerology but this one fits right in with so many things. Take for instance the WTC attack. This happened on the 11th day and if you read what the number means you will see that this world's energy runs on an orderly method and these cards hit close to home. Remember that these cards like anything else we humans use can be abused. They are an aid, a guide and as being human, the road our destiny takes is really our final choice, and these cards assist us to make spiritual choices based on an ancient knowledge that is being remembered.

For anyone with a special interest in Linda Goodman
Star Cards is a set of metaphysical divination cards inspired by the astrological teachings of Linda Goodman, with written materials compiled and written by Crystal Bush and illustrated by Frank Riccio. Any with a special interest in Linda Goodman will consider this set an important purchase.

Beautiful and Illuminating!
For fans of Linda Goodman this is a real treat! I followed LInda's books and was overjoyed when the Star Cards came out. They're exquisite, and follow Linda's numerology teaching by the ancient Chaldeans. I found the official website dedicated to LInda's teachings at Lindagoodman.net where you can buy things mentioned in Linda's books. These cards are beautiful and use the magic of numbers to help illuminate the way ahead. I love them!

Peterson's Sat Success
Published in Paperback by Petersons Guides (August, 1996)
Authors: Michael R. Crystal, Joan Davenport Carris, and William R. McQuade
Average review score:

Good, but not the best on the market
I have purchased this book hoping to find something innovative, something very cool - and under the cover of so much advertisment I found a simple, but not bad, SAT preparation book. It has all the elements to prepare for the real thing except for the practice tests and the so-called "SAT words" - both of them are low in quantity. Perchaps it's a suggestion for the authors. Overall, I think I wouldn't have bought it if I had seen the Barron's title earlier.

PS: The "word teams" is just great - explore it more and this might be your key to success!

Excellent
This is the best SAT book I've used - it really helped me improve my score. I thought it was well-written, and the practice tests were really useful. I would recommend it over any of the others out there.

Look no further.
This is the best SAT prep book out there. This has great pointers for avoiding common mistakes, a comprehensive vocabulary building section, an easy-to-understand math review, and even gives you prep talks along the way to keep you calm but psyched and ready to ace the test. This was great, I recommend it to anyone hoping for high scores on the SATs.
